With a change in priorities over the last few months I've created a routine and stuck to it, I like to consider it my daily fix to help me stay positive and feeling the best I can.
Years ago I used to visit the gym on a more frequent basis and over the last 3 years unfortunately that fell by the wayside. My overall goal in the gym is to be strong and feel good about myself.
With how frequently I go, I go through a decent amount of laundry and it really helps me to figure out how I feel about things. My workouts vary from weights to cardio and high intensity interval training. So my clothes need to be sweat wicking so I don't look like a drowned rat after my workout, my shoes need to be comfortable for whatever I'm doing that day and my tops need to be supportive.
Here's a look at my current Gym Faves.
1. Chuck Taylor Converse
Okay, now these. These! I love them, so much. Honestly I had a love hate relationship with Converse growing up, I would go through pairs like no tomorrow. I would wear them out typically within 2-3 months which is not so great for the money that you spend on a pair but since purchasing these for the gym I am in love all over again. The flat sole of the shoe allows for more balance while doing weights and helps to ensure you don't roll your ankle (of course I got these after I did so...)
2. Apple Watch SE
Some people have a hate relationship with Apple watches because they feel they are controlling with the notifications to "close your rings" or saying "time to stand". I'll be honest I love mine. It helps me to hold myself accountable to get my daily movement in and get out and about. I record all of my workouts on my watch and I love getting notifications for closing my rings.
I pretty well leave mine on at all times, when I shower or swim I put it on the water mode so it blocks out the water from the watch itself.

3. Beats Solo 3 Headphones
These have been my go to headphones for years, for a while I was only using my AirPods but I'm so happy to be using them again because I have a very short attention span and the noise cancelling really helps me to stay focused. I love being able to control my music and volume by my headphones or by my watch so I don't have to always touch my phone.
My favourite thing about these is the fact that I can do any and all workout without worrying about them flying off or falling off, means I can do my workouts with no distractions.

4. Nike Metcon 4 Trainers
At the beginning I was only using these for training days, that was before I discovered how great Converse were for weights. Now these have become my cardio day shoes and with the shape of the sole they are perfect for my hike on the treadmill and my interval training as well. I do both jogging and sprints in these comfortably and love the fact that they are all one piece without having to deal with a tongue on the shoe.
Note: I recommend sizing up by 1/2 a size to a full size on these.

5. Gymshark Rest Day Sweats
This collection is one of my favourites for home or the gym, without a fleecy interior on them I couldn't be happier. I loved the sweatshirt so much from my first order that I ordered the sweatpants and then the 1/4 zip sweatshirt!
Perfect for layering on the way to the gym or to lounge at home and they fit just right. Not too oversized at all, so personally I'd say to stay true to size.

6. Gymshark Adapt Leggings
Specifically this shout out is for the Adapt collection leggings, the perfect amount of support and the perfect fit without the risk of being see through when you do your squats.
While the different collections from the Adapt Collection (Camo and Animal) may fit a little different in terms of the thickness of the fabric I still love all of them, however to be specific the Camo Collection is amazing. With a waist band that is the perfect length, long enough that you can wear it super high rise if you wish to if you want to fold it over. They literally feel like a second skin!
