I got one of my wishlist items, but how much does it matter?

Last week I got one of my items on my wishlist, the Giselle huggies from Melanie Auld and I was absolutely ecstatic. But now one week later things are so different, (obviously not how much I love the earrings, they're absolutely gorgeous!)

While I looked at beautiful things as a way to make myself happy how important are "things" really?

With the many changes that have come and that are to come with the COVID-19 virus we must remember the things that are important and remember the things that make us happy when there is a unhappy reality.

A day prior to losing my job due to the many lay-offs because of COVID-19 I broke down, this is a scary time for many of us. Many people have lost their jobs, many are sick, some have died, and many are without their families. To say that that is all that has affected us with this is a understatement however I am not an expert so I will not speak more on it. But with all of this being said something we should all remember and be acting on is compassion and empathy are important during this time.

You may be upset because of you travel plans being disrupted but take a minute and step into the shoes of the person you're speaking to before you take out your anger on them, they may be going through a difficult time as well. However regardless of the situation we should all practice empathy and compassion more and this may teach us just how important it is.

The other important things are to remember the things that make you happy, and for myself it is my family more than anything.

While purchasing things to make myself happy will be on the back-burner for a while it gives me time to appreciate the things I have already, my family, and my friends. And also gives me a break to re-evaluate the overwhelming amount of "things" I have, which ones fit into my life, and the ones that I have to decide whether or not it is it is truly important to save for or if it is more important to put it towards having money saved for an emergency or larger future goals. Just a little fine tuning!

I will have time to enjoy my home life a little more and try to relax, I'm still a little uneasy with only having to focus on schoolwork as this is the first time in five years I am not working full-time so I am still adjusting!

P.s. The Giselle Huggies, may be sold out right now but Violette Boutique has loads of gorgeous things, while the store may be closed you can still purchase online from them!

Please note that these are all my own opinions and is not an advertisement.
