If the Jeans don't fit

Finding jeans is a tough task to begin with, sometime it gets really hard though. You add in a badly lit change room, a tough day and voila. The worst shopping experience you can have.

The key to a good shopping experience starts with being in the right mood, if you feel down it can make it so hard even just looking in the mirror. I've had those days and it tears you right down, you look in the mirror and it's not just that the jeans might not fit but it makes you feel like you don't fit. It makes you notice everything that you think is wrong with your body. But remember, there is nothing wrong with your body and you should be proud it.

Wearing Mother Denim.

That's why I've learned that some of the best things to do for yourself if you want to go shopping is to:

  • Be aware of your mood, are you going to criticize yourself to the brink of tears, have you had a rough day? Consider whether it might be good to go another day.

  • If you aren't in a good place emotionally and you want to go shopping it can help to bring a supportive friend or family member with you.

  • If you don't love the jeans take them off, you just haven't found the right ones!

You need to feel comfortable in your clothes that is the most important thing and if you feel strained, stressed or down because of what you're wearing you need to remember to dress for yourself not for others. If you love a boyfriend jean, rock a boyfriend jean. If you love high waisted skinny's go for it!

It's a hard thing to follow because you try to go out of your comfort zone but if you want to do that, do one thing a day.

I know that clothes and shopping are not everything but they can definitely affect your mood, feelings of self worth, confidence and so much more. And wearing things that make you feel strong and confident is important.
