Let's talk skin and taking time for yourself

Since being laid-off due to COVID-19 I have been at home everyday other than going out to get groceries every once in a while and up till a few days ago I hadn't put makeup on for over two weeks. Part of it was stress, part of it was the fact that I didn't care anymore and another part was that there were so many more important things to worry about.


Normally not wearing makeup gives your skin some time to breath but it seems the stress of finishing school with the current limitations may be stressing me out a bit or just the pandemic in general.


I haven't been the best with working on keeping up with my skincare routine; the cleanser, the toner, oil and moisturizer and masks and that's totally normal and okay. Let's be honest most of us have a hard time keeping up with those routines, but it can be calming as a night time or morning ritual each day; just a little time for ourselves.

It's hard for us to take time for ourselves or stop to think even for a minute sometime when were concerned about what's going on in the world, but it is important to stop and and live in the day that we're in when you can.


With my anxiety that is one of the things that is helping me, not thinking far into the future but thinking of it one day at a time.


Remember, when you've got the time just remember to take a moment to do something nice for you. For me, now that I'm done homework for the day, I'm gonna do my skincare, something that is simply just for me.
