Loving Lately: Kiska Textiles

A Canadian Designed brand that I have loved for years, located in Toronto, Ontario.

I have known of Kiska Textiles since my College years when I was studying Interior Design at Pacific Design Academy and working part time in Oak Bay at a Home Design store. During that time I was introduced to a company that created made to order bedding with a range of colour and design options from the fabric, Kiska Textiles.

After learning more about the company I sold a few sets to customers and became quite knowledgeable with their products so often my coworker would refer customers to speak with me as I had even started my own little collection of her cute pieces from pillowcases to duvet covers and more.

With such a wide range of options from

the fabric design, fabric composition, sizes and colour options you could create a whole bedding set to compliment itself and I loved it so much, not just helping customers create a set they loved but also creating one for myself.

Kiska creates their fabrics by using a woodblock for the patterns in Jaipur on their linens, cottons and silks. This is how they get the crisp details on each and every pattern. The products are made in Toronto, Canada by the talented team. They even designed the meditation bed for the Dalai Lama in 2010. Wow! (PS all patterns can be seen on the website under the prints section, it's fun to look through all of them!)

Over the years I have grown my collection, although some of it had to be left with my mum as it didn't fit the bed I have now. In 2020 I added my first quilt to my collection, it was a lighter weight one than the one shown in the picture above with Callaghan as it is meant to be a topper with tonal hand-stitching in a navy blue, as one side was a navy blue design and the other was a orchid pink colour.

The second quilt was added later in 2020; pictured with Callaghan is the quilt I had loved since working at Oak Bay. We had had one in store and at the time I thought that she had discontinued the quilts, only to find she had one in stock in 2020 which I happily bought. Well worth the money, I love it dearly and as you ca see so does Callaghan!

I highly suggest browsing her website if you are not already familiar with the brand as the pieces are beautiful, and a great investment in my mind.

Have you purchased anything from Kiska Textiles? If so let me know what you have and what you think of it!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more fashion and lifestyle related posts coming every second Sunday.
