Review: Celine Nano Belt Bag in Light Taupe

Purchased August 2021 at Nordstrom Vancouver.

It's been a year that I've owned this classic and simple bag, the Celine Nano Belt Bag. But with this style, simplicity is beautiful. It's a piece that will never go out of style, and is perfect for every occasion. Night and Day.

Let's talk about the wear and tear of this bag over the year! I'll be honest I may have bumped into things a few times, but there is no damage to be seen on the exterior of the bag at all. All thanks to the grained leather! On the other hand, one of the reasons I use a key holder is because when you don't it can damage the interior of your bag, especially micro suede. And sadly there were a couple of times I used this bag without my key holder, which left a few marks on the inside.

There is some slight discolouration on the brass hardware where the crossbody strap clips in, however this can easily be cleaned.

Overall wear and tear for this bag, is amazing I'd say!

Let's break the bag down to some nitty gritty, the Pros and Cons lists:

Pros

1. Large enough to fit your daily necessities, (this includes an iPhone 13 Pro Max for size reference.)

2. Can be worn crossbody or as a top handle, (this includes being worn in the crook of your arm.)

3. Both a magnetic and a zip closure for secure storage.

4. Durable grained leather, (which I have wiped down with a damp cloth when I have gotten something on it, can also withstand some light rain.)

Cons

1. Has no metal feet so will be directly on the ground when you put it down.

2. Has no internal compartments so you'll need to buy an organizer.

3. On rare occasion the magnetic closure doesn't want to close so you'll need to fiddle with it for a little bit, (but it's very rare).

I'll be honest and say that the metal feet one is the more annoying of the three and the other two cons are really not too bothersome to me but might annoy someone else. Really, it's safe to say I love this bag. (No wonder I own it in two sizes haha!)

Now the question I've been thinking is, was this the right colour to purchase? And yes, I think it was! The beige is a perfect every day colour and this bag (size and all) is ideal for my daily life. This is the bag I grab for running errands around town. I've definitely contemplated some other colour options, but the only other one that interests me is the Black Grained Leather in the Nano size.

Currently it is available online in 5 colour options; Black, Olive, Grey, Light Taupe and Amazone (one of my personal favourite colours). Celine will often come out with seasonal colours, some recent ones were a stunning lavender with purple edges and a beautiful happy yellow.

In my opinion this is the perfect, understated bag.
