Purchased 2019 from Vestiaire Collective.
The first bag that I dreamed of owning for its simplicity and beauty was the Chloe Faye bag. I saw the Chloe Faye Wallet on a Strap on SSENSE around September of 2019 and seeing as it was a fraction of the price that the other sizes was I felt it was a good way to test the waters instead of diving right in. (SSENSE is a Canadian company that sells women's and men's accessories from luxury and high street companies, sometimes at a discounted price and occasionally offering a big discount of up to 70% off.)
(Update: I did end up selling the wallet on a strap late last year as the sizing was really not quite as functional as I had wanted it to be.)
Shortly after the purchase of my wallet on a strap I found the Chloe Faye in a medium in the Motty Grey on Vestiaire Collective. The condition was great, and it wasn't too much more than the price I had paid for the wallet on a strap, which gave me a chance to become more comfortable with the prices of luxury goods.
One of the reasons I fell for this bag so hard was because of the mixed textures; the smooth leather and suede as well as the strong chain on the front, (some of my friends have actually joked that the chain with the ring look like handcuffs and thus this bag has been dubbed the "handcuff bag"). The hardware on this bag really caught my eye because it has both silver hardware and gold hardware which mixed with the beautiful greige color is just phenomenal. On another note this bag can hold ALOT more than you would guess, because it is an accordion style bag it expands however if you're carrying a bit less (my usual is my keyholder, my card holder and my AirPods), it doesn't feel too big and it sits perfectly under your arm.
Because this bag was preloved I wasn't as afraid of damaging it as much and didn't feel the need to baby it. It already had some character but was in good condition and a beautiful piece altogether.
One thing I would like to note about Vestiaire Collective is to be aware of the shipping and duties for your item, as it certainly can add up.
While trying to simplify my collection I have turned away from colorful, flashy or patterned designs and am trying to stay within the realm of neutrals to keep a more classic collection; this piece is a perfect one for that. It goes with outfit after outfit; casual, business, dressy... It is such a great functional piece.
Do you own any Chloe bags? If so what's your favorite? Let me know!
