Hello and welcome back! We are half way through the week and the days are either flying by or going ever so slowly.
Today the local store I would like to talk about is Footloose Shoes, located across from The Bay Centre at 637 Fort Street. The store has been around since 1983 and has continued to be family owned. I stopped in to pick up a pair of shoes and was greeted by Kerstin Greiner, (owner of Footloose Shoes), and her daughter Aleisha.
Kerstin was putting up hearts in the window, while Aleisha went to grab me a couple sizes of the Gola sneakers I had been looking online at.
It was sad to see how quiet the store was after previous visits where it was so full but this is the reality of what local businesses are facing right now.
Thankfully their online store has been a hit with shoppers and has helped to bring in income for the business. Their online store has been a place for shoe lovers around Vancouver Island to look at a selection of high quality shoes.
Victorians and Canadians need more encouragement to shop from their local businesses.
It is such a strange time for local businesses but more than ever is a time to support them! If you need some amazing shoes, check out Footloose Shoes. They've got an assortment of different styles, from quality companies like Vagabond, Frye, Shoe the Bear, Birkenstock and more.
While their physical store remains closed you can direct message them, or call them if you have any questions. They have free shipping on orders over $50 within Canada which is fantastic.
Head on over to Footloose Shoes' Instagram for some drool worthy shoe inspiration!
