Shop Local, volume 9: Rook & Rose

Located on Lower Johnson at at 569 Johnson Street.

Since the beginning of April 2020 I have been trying to incorporate more florals into my photography and the aesthetic of Rook & Rose's dried florals was exactly what I was looking for. I have far more bouquets or dried bunches than I care to say, but each one of them is great for a different season or feeling. (And also who doesn't want to be surrounded by pretty florals.)

The unique thing about Rook & Rose is that you can buy a variety of goodies from them such as dried bunches, dried bouquets, fresh flowers, vases and more. You have the ability to purchase by the stem and arrange at home, or they can design one based on your colour palette choice.

I tend to buy them in bunches because it makes it easier for me to separate the pieces and use them for my photography.

You can purchase online or in-store but you can also purchase from Bear & Joey, a local Café and Restaurant on Cook Street and the Rook & Rose florals completely match their Miami Beach vibe with the pinks and palms... If you haven't had a chance to stop in highly suggest it.

Now not only is Rook and Rose a beautiful place for flowers but you can also purchase other things from them like candles and face masks for a relaxing night in. Everything you need to make your perfect night at home.

While you may think that you've seen their work before you might have! They've done both Local and International Partnerships and have notable works such as Hey Happy and Bear & Joey as well as brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Kinfolk, Lululemon and more. Truly their work is breathtaking.

If you're a bride to be and are looking for some inspiration or someone to do your florals definitely check out their Bridal Collection, (I ooh and awe over their weddings because they are too stunning).

Rook & Rose is open 7 days a week, 10:00-6:00 Tuesday through Saturday and 12:00-5:00 Sunday & Monday.

Details for their Wedding Flowers & Packages are linked here.

Be sure to check out their Instagram @rookandrose and @rookandrose.weddings for beautiful arrangements and details.

Thanks for the read!

Dried florals are so creative and ideal for fall and early winter. Often - I believe - more sustainable and more likely to include local. Many fresh flowers have more miles in them than you will fly in 2021.
